Associate Professor PhD Mario Katić underwent training at Ca`Foscari University in Venice, Italy, from 11th to 15th September of 2023. During his stay, he visited the Anthropology Program, the Maritime Museum, and the churches Santa Maria de Salute and Madonna della Neve. He attended presentations at the conference "The Water Cultures of Europe and the Mediterranean, 1500-1900" and consulted with colleagues PhD Franco Tamisari, PhD Jasenka Gudelj, PhD Giulio Zanon, and Andrea Toffolon.

Doctoral student Adriana Pojatina participated in a specialization at the University of Roehampton, London, in the period from 18th to 22nd October, 2021. The topic of specialization was the anthropology of pilgrimage.

Associate professor, PhD Mario Katić and PhD student Petra Valovičić paricipated in a specialization at the University of Aix-Marseille, more specifically Idemec - Institut d'ethnologie méditerranée, européenne et comparative, in the period from 21st to 27th September, 2021. The topic of specialization were religious practices of the maritime cultures of the Mediterranean.

Postdoctoral student Karmen Turčinov was on a study stay at the Institute for Anthropological and Spatial Studies in Ljubljana in the period from September 19th to 23rd, 2021. The topic of the study stay was the ethnography of sea routes.

PhD Mirela Hrovatin participated in UNESCO's online training for writing the Periodic Report on the Application of the Convention for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage from 2003. The training lasted from March 10th to April 16th, 2021.
